Grace

Today has been an eventful day. Needless to say I am ready to go to bed...and start it all over again tomorrow...I am ready for tomorrow because I get to go to Dallas with my girlfriends and with my mom!!! I am so excited she is making the trip with me (she is somewhat of a homebody!) :) Love you mom.

But I say that to this...Lately I have found that there is no love like a mother's love and although I am not yet a momma, I know what's its like to be loved by one. It seems like stress has somewhat followed me around lately but through it all my mom had stood by me, listened to me and loved me unconditionally. Really that's all I need...It doesn't matter whether she thinks I'm right or wrong, she just supports, loves and lifts me up. Thanks mom, you truly are my very best friend and I think you are super cool and funny and I can't wait to spend the weekend with you and the girls!!!
Also--Another thing about today...I want to not only thank my mom but I want to thank my man....He's a good man, no I take that back...he is a GREAT man! I am so thankful for him! I have prayed for the guy that will be my husband since I was a little girl and God answered my prayers more than I could of even imagined when he gave me Jacob. He brings me peace, love, compassion, patience, humility, a servant heart and much more. I KNOW that even when it "rains" Jake will be there by my side. He has proven himself to be a God fearing man who knows how to treat a lady and knows how to treat his future wife! I love you Jacob and I am proud and honored to be able to say ill be your wife in 59 days! You are amazing and I love everything about you (and trust me that's a big statement!!)

After all of this I would like to say that these two people are my heroes!!

And that's all the photos we have time to upload right now. We are moving right along, and I should have most of, if not all of the house painted tomorrow. More to follow, thanks for keeping up with us! Keep us in your prayers please, thanks a bunch!

Finally Some Pictures!!!!

Well what a weekend!! We got so much done!!! I don't pictures to show our progress thus far because most of them have been taken with Jake's camera...I do have some that were taken with my phone...I release the mess onto you guys!!

This first picture is the STUDS in our bathroom! What a way to start a project...tearing something to studs--although we didn't plan on taking the bathroom to studs it happened. It actually ended up being fine though...You will see later in the "after" pictures....Here goes

Now-Here is the before pictures of a few of the kitchen cabinets, and then the one below is the picture where Jake has added trim to them. We are still going to paint and distress the cabinets so we are a long way from done with them but they already look a million times better!!

Ok and THIS one is a trip! There was a wall heater right here and Jacob decided to tear it out (since we got central heat and air) and he is going to build me some shelves and a wine rack in here. However the wall unit wouldn't come out...But there is a solution for EVERY problem so Jacob backed his truck up into the yard (yes we are the white trash neighbors) and he hook a tow rope up to his truck and to the heater and he pulled it out of the wall...With a huge crash and a cloud of dust we were left a HOLE ready to be made into shelves!

Ok although none of these pictures show what we've got done they are at least SOME of the before pics!! We have a ton more.

Jake and My Dad textured the WHOLE house this weekend and Jacob is painting as we speak! I went by at lunch to see the master bedroom which looks GREAT!! Jake got me Jason's Deli and we sat on two 5 gallon paint cans and ate lunch in our new house for the first time. It was very sweet! Haha! Here is the lovely off-center picture!!!

Ok that's all for today!! Keep posted more to come!!!

Just some updates (pictures still to come!!)

Well I have been a little behind on this whole blog thing!! I am trying to keep up but things are just so crazy right now it's kind of hard. Jacob and I have been working away over at our new house!! It seems like things are really falling into place...We got sheet rock up in the bathroom again and my dad spent the whole weekend over there doing the electrical work and helping us out a TON!! It is such a blessing to have two wonderful men in my life who are very handy!! I am blessed! And my sweet mom was the waterstill tea/lunch/dinner/snack bringer! ha!

She promises once the heating and air guys are done that she will be over there to help me paint!! (I think we are still a ways away from painting though) Jacob says he thinks if things keep running smoothly he can move into the house in about two weeks. We won't be even close to being finished by then but we think he will have the master bedroom done and we can at least put the bed in there!

It is so crazy to me to think I am going to be married that guy in 74 days! The days are FLYING by and I am so excited to be his wife! We have made a promise that even though this time in our lives is really stressful and fast paced, we are not going to fight and argue in the new house...we said there will be plenty of time to do that once we move in haha...A good friend gave me some GREAT advice...He said "don't look back on the time you had fixing up your FIRST home with your husband and regret fighting over the wall colors, in-laws, what's for supper, the shower curtain, etc....He said to look back on it with joy knowing the wall color doesnt really matter but the fact that you got into a paint war with that wall color is what matters!! Make memories!!"

So far so good!! No silly fights in the new house! Although I am lacking on my promise of pictures---Just know that they are coming soon! We have taken TONS of before and after pics we just havent had the time to upload them! Those will be here soon!!

Please keep praying for our new home and our new adventures in starting a new family!! Hope you all are being blessed!

Busy, busy, very busy!

Well things have just been moving right along!!! Jacob and I officially started working on the new house! It started out we were just going to tear out some cabinets in the bathroom---well of course it's never that easy...as we started the demolition we noticed that the tile was glued to the sheetrock and guess what?!?! We had to end up ripping the bathroom down to the studs...boo! I hope that this is not an indication as to how the rest of the remodel will go. Be praying.

But other than that-things are running smoothly. We spent the evening over at the Horton's last night. It was Brent's birthday and it was so fun to get together with some friends and relax and enjoy the weather and the company of wonderful friends.

Jake and I will post pictures soon of the new house! We are going to do before and afters! Very exciting! Keep checking back! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!

Welcome to our blog

Jacob and I are very new at this whole blogging thing. We have so much going on in our lives right now that we thought it would be good to document it. We decided having a blog would be a good way to keep our friends and family updated on what's going on with us.

Right now Jacob and I are engaged. Our wedding is September 26, 2009. The days are flying by and it seems like the wedding will be here in no time! We got engaged in March and we have planning away. I think we have everything done for the most part and we are only waiting on the last minute things that have to be done.

We are SOOOO EXCITED to be the proud owners of a house! We have been looking since January and we found the perfect one! We started working on it this weekend and it will probably take up until the wedding to finish. Jacob will move in as soon as we get a room finished and I will move in after the wedding! I can't wait--It was so stressful looking for a home but God really blessed our patience!! It is so peaceful to have a place we can call home after we are married!!

I will post pictures of the house as we do the updating!! Let us know what you think!
