Fiance of the Year!!!!!!!!!

GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This weekend my sweet, wonderful, amazing fiance surprised me with a HONEYMOON!!

We initially were not going to get to go on one. My parents have set their budget for the wedding and whatever we don't spend they will give us in cash..which is great but we didn't wanna bank on that for the honeymoon. And Jacob's parents aren't doing it either.....
With us just buying a house and still being in school we didn't want to strap ourselves at the beginning of our marriage..we have seen the ugly side of money and we are NOT going to let that be apart of our marriage or family! However God is good and Jacob worked out a way where we get to go on a cruise!!!!!!

SEVEN DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Below is the confirmation email with our itinerary!! I am sooo excited!

In case you can't read it up there here is another picture. We will leave the day after the wedding (our flight will leave at like 8 in the morning) then we will depart from Galveston at 4:00pm we will be out at sea and then we arrive at Montego Bay, in JAMAICA, then Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands!!! And then Cozumel, Mexico!! I am sooo excited and truly can't wait to spend the week away...No phones, email or Internet..Just me and my hubby!!!!!

I can't believe that we started dating 6 years ago. We were little freshmen with crazy hair and no style!! Now in 26 short days I will be his wife!! I can't wait! Look at the difference is US! I think this homecoming picture was junior year, then our first year of college and then a picture from our engagements that the WONDERFUL Chriselda took! (you should also check out her blog!!--it's way better than mine) http://www.chriseldaphotography.com/ (then click the 'blog' link!) Anyways here we are!

Ladies and Gentleman it's a HOLE IN ONE!!!!!!!!!!

This may be kinda a long post (due to all the pictures) But it's worth it!!!!!!

Last weekend my dad played in the Rajun Cajun golf tournament that benefits the March of Dimes special Olympics. AND GUESS WHAT!?!?!

HE SHOT A HOLE IN ONE!!!!!! Now let me just say that last night my daddy was on the news and they quote the stat that follows: an amateur golfer's chances at a hole in one are at 1 in every 12,750 shots!!!!!! WHAT A STUD!

Anyway--Since he got the hole in one he received $500 dollars worth of free gas from pak-a-sak and last night they interviewed him with some kids from the special Olympics- He was on three new channels and in the news paper! 15 minutes of fame anyone?!? I am so excited and proud of him!! Here are some pictures to show you!!!

This first one is of him high-fiving the kids in the special Olympics! So sweet!!!

This next one is of him with all the people who sponsored the game. The Pak-A-Sak owners etc....

Him with the special olympic golfers...They were so sweet and so proud of him!

Here is the sweet family!! Jacob couldn't come because he was right in the middle of painting the kitchen cabinets in our new house! (However he did send his love in the form of a sweet yet goofy picture for my dad!!!!) We are all so very proud of him and so excited for him!!!!!

Mom out there supporting my dad!! So sweet! (isnt she beautiful!!!!!!!!!)
Dad's biggest fan right here!!!! I love that man! So excited and proud for him! Hope you all saw his name in the paper and saw his handsome face on TV last night!! (we DVR it of course!!!) :)

Welcome baby Kipton Lane!

My sweet and beautiful cousin Tara (who happens to be the matron of honor at my wedding!) just added a perfect new addition to our family!!! On Sunday morning at 3 o'clock in the morning Kipton Lane Feagan was born! 6lbs 6oz and he is BEAUTIFUL! I have never held something so tiny in my life! He was an angel! Didn't cry at all and Tara said he hadn't cried since she had him (beings he was only 10 hours old..I'm sure the status has changed!) haha

I caught a couple of pictures of him! The first are of just him with his eyes shut sleeping peacefully...And then there are some with him and Jacob...Oh my goodness it just melted my heart!!!!!! It was the FIRST time Jacob had ever held a brand new baby in his life!!! I think I maybe fell a little more in love (if that's possible..) Kipton opened his eyes for Jacob and was just looking right at him! He wouldnt open them for anyone else!! It was precious!!
Here are some pictures! They will melt your heart too! He's going to be a GREAT daddy (wink, wink...SOMEDAY!!)

SO CLOSE NOW!

This past week or so Jake has been off of work. His boss gave him some time away so he could be working on OUR house!! It has been awesome to see the daily changes and I think I can actually see the finish line! We are SO CLOSE--the Bathroom, living room, our bedroom and the guest room are DONE! We lack the office, the kitchen and the hardwood floors! Our deadline to be completely finished is September 2nd. Mr. Sandless is coming on September 3rd once he is done we hope to get moved in completely! (except my stuff of course...I have to wait until after the wedding!) ;)

Here are FEW pictures of the progress but I will post more later this week. These are just the bathroom with the shower curtain and mirrors finally hung and then the wine rack that Jacob is building all on his own to go in the bookshelf which he also built all on his own...He is so handy! I think I'll keep him!

Beautiful Disaster!

Yesterday (and everyday really...) Jacob and I worked on the house all evening. When we left there to eat supper at my parents house we had a hankering for something sweet! However with the wedding only THIRTY EIGHT days away (crazy I know!!!) I was going to TRY and resist the urge.....FAIL!

When we finished supper we made cinnamon rolls...Does it get worse than that? Final dress fitting is done..there's no going back now and I am elbow deep in dough!! Here are the pictures to prove it! :)

As you can see thus far it is a VERY long process and I was beginning to wonder if it was even worth it...the time, the energy, the CALORIES!!!!

Turns out it was ALL worth it!
We all got to have our yummy cinnamon rolls! My mom and dad, me and Luis... then here's Jake after two HUGE rolls..I cant even describe this picture...I think it describes itself! Delight??..maybe in a scary way! Haha, jk I love you babe!

A little progress...

It seems like there for awhile we were at a standstill with the house. Jacob went out of town for SEVEN days and I was all alone in the new house! I got some stuff done, but it was hard to know what to do without Jake's direction. However, since he's been home he's been busting his butt!!! Yesterday he got everything sanded and painted and today he started glazing. Here a few pics..Ill explain as we go.....
This first one is of the living room painted with the tan walls and the red ceiling. (A little bold with the red, we know but Jacob asked me to trust him on this one...I'M GLAD I DID!!!!) I think now (in the pictures to follow) it looks great!!!!

The picture below is the same corner just with the ceiling glazed and the new fan put up and running!

This is the same corner AGAIN now with one side of the wall glazed...see I am showing you the process...not being redundant haha..It's really coming together here because I was not loving the peachy, tan walls with a wow red ceiling..but now I am LOVING it!!!!!!!

OK...Now this next picture is of the bathroom vanity with the sinks in and the faucets on and working. We still have to get the mirrors hung up but for now they are just sitting on the vanity! As far as the living room goes, Jacob was glazing still when I left. If he finishes that today then we need to paint the trim white and pull the carpet up....THAT'S ALL! We are gonna let those hardwoods shine!!! :) Progress is nice!!!!!

Slowly but surely things are falling into place! I love our home so much and we so blessed to be able to save the money doing the work ourselves! I can't wait to move in! Thanks for all of your support and prayers!! Ill continue the updating as we go!

Dinner with Daddy

When I was a little girl my parents would split me and my sister up on the weekends and they would take turns taking us on "dates." I would wait and wait and wait all week for the weekend and I would be so excited to date either my mom or my dad. Each time my dad and I would go out we would go eat our FAVORITE little Mexican Food dive. He would open my car door, pull out my chair and teach me how a lady needed to be treated. It was the BEST!!! I love the memories I have of going on dates with my parents. My dad has taught he so much over the years about loving and being loved, he has taught me about loving the Lord and loving myself. He is an AMAZING man. The best father, an incredible husband to my mom, a WONDERFUL son to his mother, and he will be THE BEST GRANDFATHER IN THE WORLD to mine and Jake's children!!! I cant wait to watch him with our kids. In the mean time my sweet daddy called me yesterday morning while I was at work and he asked me if he could take me to dinner. Jacob is out of town on business and my mom was having dinner with some friends from highschool. I of course said yes!! I never turn done a free meal :) But it was so much more than that!!! He picked me up from my house and took me to Abuelos where we ate and talked ALL night!!! We left at like 9:30 at night!! It was so good to catch up, just me and my daddy!! I am so blessed to have my family here close to me and I will NEVER move away from them (unless of course the Lord calls us somewhere else...in which case I hope to come home and raise my family here--never say never...ha!) I am so thankful for the relationship I have with them and the bond between us. My parents are my heroes and my friends. They are people I confide in and love more than I ever knew I could. I am so thankful for the person they raised me to be and I look up to them both so much. I hope I will be half of the wife and mother that my mom is and I have prayed for my soon to be husband to be like my dad in the way he loves my mom and he loves the Lord, and in his work ethic, etc! God answered my prayers!!! Jacob is going to be a great hubby!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

ANYWAYS enough sappy stuff here a pic of me and my sweet dad at Abuelos last night!! A little off centered but sweet all the same!
Thanks dad! Your the best!! Love you

Just some food for thought that I came across in my quiet time this morning......

"A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret." Proverbs 11:13
"Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down" Proverbs 26:20
